Secrets, Lies, or Just Plain Bullshit starts here:

The story starts with a memo heading: ‘TOP SECRET.’
Did the US Army’s “Biological Weapons Program” disperse zinc cadmium sulphide (ZnCdS) particles across the U.S. and over parts of Canada via aircraft spraying?

Well, folks, they must have, because after the information came to light, they issued a statement saying “Operation LAC” was harmless to the public’s health.

Did the US Spray Biological Toxins over Canada?

After the public learning of this activity, they had legitimate concerns about being sprayed with a chemical agent being developed for “chemical WARFARE.” And not being told. Since I’m Canadian, spraying deadly toxins over any part of Canada would be concerning in my mind. ”We were the experiment by a foreign country! “

  • Now I don’t mind saying, I’m out of my league writing about things I know nothing about; however, as I’m watching a program on the tube and doing a real-time follow-up on my Laptop for verification of this disturbing story, it turns out … this story is true, and it goes like this;

Yeap, the United States did conduct an extensive and secret biological weapons program. Part of the Cold War thing. And parts of the US, and as mentioned, parts of Manitoba and Alberta, Canada.

The live experiment in question was called “Operation LAC.” (Large Area Coverage.) But that’s not the only time this chemical spraying has happened. As with any research, one link takes you to another and then another.
As the story goes, during this period, the military and CIA performed 239 secret open-air germ warfare tests over populated areas to track how biological agents would disperse in real-world environments. But the US officials did say, Not to worry, it was harmless.

** Notable Secret Experiments Operation Sea-Spray (1950): The U.S. Navy sprayed Serratia marcescens and Bacillus globigii bacteria over the San Francisco Bay Area to simulate a bioweapon attack.

While the military claimed the bacteria or whatever it was were harmless, at least 11 people were hospitalized with serious infections, and one man, Edward Nevin, supposedly died.
Researching that allegation on the web, yep, **** Edward Nevin did die on November 1, 1950, from bacterial endocarditis (a severe heart valve infection). The infection developed shortly after he underwent prostate surgery. However, *** Decades later, it was revealed that his death was linked to a secret U.S. Navy biological warfare experiment. <<

Now, as I’m following the links, did you also know that Agent Orange, “the airborne chemical that was widely used during the Vietnam War era to kill off jungle vegetation was also blamed for killing and maiming people during and many years after the war?
That chemical (Agent Orange) was supposedly tested over Canada by the U.S.

My question was and is, did the Canadian Government know its citizens were part of a US Biological weapons experiment back then?
Again, one link showed that either the Canadian government knew and buried the information or never knew until after the fact.

Well then, this next part comes to light

While federal military officials sanctioned the broad “wind dispersal” tracking tests, historical records indicate the Pentagon “did not explicitly inform Canadian authorities” that a potential carcinogen (cadmium) was being dropped over major populated areas in Canada.

When the Canadian authorities did find out, ‘assuming they did not know.’ The Americans got a high-level tongue-lashing from the Canadian government, which probably fell on deaf ears. After that episode, the information was buried from prying eyes, until:

When details of “” Operation LAC”” and related military chemical tracking experiments were finally made public in the late 1970s and 1990s, the affected communities in Canada and the US expressed immense outrage, but again, on deaf ears.

  • That’s the part where they issued a statement saying “Operation LAC” was harmless to the public’s health.

In any case;
The United States government responded to the legal and ethical challenges of “Operation LAC” and similar biological/chemical simulant tests through a combination of official disclosure, congressional hearings, independent scientific reviews, and legal immunity protections. *** No compensation was ever paid to civilians, and the government consistently denied that the tests caused any health harm.

Web-Documented; Decades later, it was revealed that Edward Nevin, who died on November 1, 1950 and was linked to a secret U.S. Navy biological warfare experiment.

***The question is: how many Canadians were infected by experiments done by a foreign country is unknown.

Final comment:
Because the study concluded that human health risks were not negligible, Ottawa determined that no broader national emergency or specialized medical tracking program for exposed citizens was required.

*** No Official Apology or Financial Compensation was ever made by the US or the Canadian government. *** So, with that final statement, I would assume the authorities must have chalked it up as … Population-Collateral Damage, Eh! “This is only my opinion,” however … why over Canada?

THIS “Operation LAC” INFORMATION and more IS AVAILABLE ONLINE FOR ALL TO SEE. But this opens the door for other questions. However, for the first time ever, Canada was not mentioned in most research articles.

Sign saying: Respect Canada’s sovereignty, stop the spraying.
